Mr Ann Jong Juan is the founder and principal of Han Language Centre, Singapore's largest chain of private Chinese learning schools. He has over 45 years of teaching experience in the Chinese language. He was formerly a specialist writer for Chinese language teaching materials with the Curriculum Planning and Development Division, Ministry of Education.
Mr Ann’ s acute understanding of a student’s academic and personal needs has allowed him to develop unique and systematic teaching methods that makes Chinese interesting for everyone, thus placing Han Language Centre as a forerunner in Chinese education.
A prominent figure in Singapore's theatre arts scene, Mr Ann has authored and directed multiple crosstalk collections and plays over the decades. 1990, he was awarded the Cultural Medallion (Drama) for his contributions to the performing arts.
Since 1993, he is the key speaker for PSLE and O Level Chinese Examinations Preparation Public Lectures, and also the author and copy-writer to "Full Marks in Class" of "Thumps Up" and "Friday Weekly" (Currently known as “ZB Comma”), Lian He Zaobao, now. Mr Ann also a Guest Speaker at Singapore Centre for Chinese Language.
Mr Ann has were presented with the inaugural Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre Award (SCCCA) on 20 May 2017 at the newly opened Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, to recognized for his outstanding contributions to the promotion, enrichment and development of Singapore’s Chinese culture.
